China"s major economic indicators, including industrial production, improved in May amid government measures to coordinate COVID-19 control with economic development, showing fresh signs of recovery, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday. The country's value-added industrial output rose by 0.7 percent year-on-year in May, compared with the 2.9 percent decline in April, the NBS said. China's consumer price index, a main gauge of inflation, rose by 0.9 percent year-on-year in Jan, down from 1.5 percent in the previous month, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday. The slower growth of consumer inflation was mainly attributed to the decline of food prices with pork and fresh vegetables prices dropping 41.6 percent and 4.1 percent year-on-year in Jan.
