Scotland will be a popular post-pandemic travel destination for Chinese visitors, bolstered by the appeal of its whisky and scenic Highlands area, according to the country"s tourism agency chief. Malcolm Roughead, chief executive of VisitScotland, said: "Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Chinese travelers were increasingly enjoying holidays to long-haul destinations. Their growing appetite for unique and exciting experiences meant that Scotland was perfectly positioned to offer them exactly what they were looking for." HUTCHMED, a Chinese biopharmaceutical company, has advanced 12 cancer drug candidates it manufactured to clinical research stage around the world. This includes three innovative oncology drugs that have been approved for the China market, senior executives of the enterprise said at a meeting while releasing its 2021 performance on Friday. China urged the Australian military to stop spreading false information and making dangerous, provocative acts following an encounter between a Chinese warship and an Australian aircraft, a military spokesman said on Monday. Over the past two days, Australia accused a Chinese naval ship of shining a "military-grade" laser toward one of its warplanes, claiming the act was "unprofessional, unsafe and reckless".
